Kinja'd!!!

- squeaky idler pulley

- driver rear brake chirps occasionally

- connector doesn’t make consistent contact with the negative battery terminal

- rusty stone chips on the hood

- something hit the hatch meaning it is slightly wavy and has the wrong Mini badge on it.

- ugly faded trim.

The first 3 issues are being fixed tomorrow.

Hmmm, I must write something for my similar year and mileage Alfa 147. The problem is the list will be much longer and even if I repair something a new thing will take its place 5 seconds later.

Is yours a manual or with one of those godawful automatics?

Mines a manual. These don’t have the power to overcome the powerloss of the awful auto design. With a manual they are quick little cars.

You’re not the only one! First his thermostat housing was leaking, then his clutch was starting to go. He ended up getting a 2015 Mustang Ecoboost, which had issues near the end of that ownership. He just got a new 2016 Mustang GT, and a few days later was hit by a motorcycle, impacting the side of his brand new car. It just got repaired. Hopefully this isn’t you in the future.

Well all the mechanical issues with my car are now fixed. My mechanic who I bought it from went through and replaced all the fluids, spark plugs, gaskets, clutch, new exhaust, and basically went through it with a fine tooth comb before I took possession of it. At some point the clutch is probably going to have to be replaced as I learned how to drive manual on it and as such it probably has a fair amount of wear on it. The only reason the pulley was squeaking was because he didn’t have the part on hand in time for when I needed to take possession of the car so we agreed that he would replace it at a date once the part was available.
